OpenAI Wants to Combine ChatGPT, Web Browser and Codex into One Desktop Application

OpenAI has previously been said to want to focus more on product offerings, with more attention given to programming and enterprise offerings. As a continuation of this, OpenAI now wants to combine their application offerings, including the ChatGPT application, the Atlas web browser and the Codex programming application, into a single desktop application.

With this move, it will further simplify the development process and offering to users. OpenAI says that a company goes through various phases of exploration and development, as well as a phase to refocus. Now, when they see the increasing demand and use of Codex, OpenAI wants to focus more on it.

Previously, more focus was given to ChatGPT which operates as an answer engine. However, it seems that it is easier to sell when they provide specific offerings to programming and enterprises rather than end users. This move is also seen as being taken in order to overcome and compete healthily with Google and Anthropic. Google already has high users through its enterprise offerings and Google Workspace, while Anthropic has its own programmer fans who are actively using it. OpenAI appears to be facing challenges, and now wants to focus more on their product offerings.
