I've used the Samsung Recorder and Google Recorder apps to record interviews while doing outside work. They're great, but the transcription features of both apps are too literal, with every "umm" and "ahh" in the interview also being included in the transcript.
Today, Google's AI Edge Eloquent app was launched, which will polish the resulting transcriptions to be neater and easier to read. Artificial intelligence (AI) is used to filter out parts of the audio that it deems unnecessary to convert into transcriptions. It also doesn't require a subscription to use and can be used indefinitely.
After the transcription is polished, users can also ask it to summarize, change the tone to be more formal, or shorten the text. Although developed by Google, AI Edge Eloquent is only available for download on iOS devices at this time, with Android and macOS versions in development.
