Intel Will Soon Introduce More CPUs With Overclocking Capabilities

Robert Hallock, Vice President of the Enthusiast Channel at Intel, recently said that in the future, more Intel processors will come with the ability to be overclocked or overclocked for consumers.

Overclocking capabilities on Intel's processor series are usually locked behind two specific things, namely the K or KF series processor models (K series chips without built-in graphics chips) and the Z series motherboards, which mark the most premium model series that Intel produces.

In an interview with PC Games Hardware, Robert Hallock said that in the future, Intel is expected to offer more options for processors with overclocking capabilities, and not just for the "K/KF" series processors and "Z" series motherboards.

However, he did not say when this could happen, especially since Intel's motherboard chipsets will need to be overhauled to allow more of Intel's motherboard series offerings to be used for overclocking purposes.

This series of overclock-friendly chips and motherboards could be seen as early as Intel's Nova Lake desktop-class processor series, which will be introduced later this year, but for now, Robert Hallock has not confirmed when this offering will be introduced.

In comparison, AMD has already introduced overclocking capabilities regardless of platform when they first introduced the first generation of AMD Ryzen processor series for desktops many years ago.
