Netgear Will Soon Be Allowed to Sell Its WiFi Routers in the United States

Starting March 1, 2027, electronics brands will no longer be allowed to sell their WiFi routers in the United States market if they are manufactured abroad, especially in China. This includes brands from the United States itself, if they have to import the products from abroad.

Recently, it has been reported that Netgear is the first brand that is now allowed to sell their WiFi routers after that date. Previously, although Netgear is a US brand, the sale of their WiFi routers was banned because the source of production of the product was from China.

According to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), this is sufficient reason to ban the sale of the product, along with the reasons for the digital security of consumers in the United States.

Netgear will apparently start producing its WiFi routers in the United States, which is one of the main requirements for consumer internet network equipment brands to be able to sell them in the market.

It is not yet known whether Netgear plans to bring manufacturing of its WiFi routers and other networking products back to the United States, either partially or fully. It is widely expected that this process will cost the company a lot of money.
