WhatsApp is testing the new Liquid Glass interface for select iOS beta users. Liquid Glass is a design style with layered depth effects, semi-transparent effects, and a glass-like appearance. In addition, this style was also popularized by Apple when it introduced iOS 26 previously.
Through it, users can see a new bar that appears to float and is semi-transparent as a clear sign that Liquid Glass is activated. In addition, additional designs also involve buttons, context menus, and keyboards that receive a layered glass style with smoother animations. Subsequently, WhatsApp version for iOS 26.14.76 has been designated as a version compatible with this Liquid Glass.
In terms of further development, WhatsApp plans to expand Liquid Glass to the voice message player in future updates. Although more and more users have received this update, it is not yet available to everyone. Therefore, the full offering is expected to be provided in the coming weeks.
For the record, Telegram has also provided this glass-like interface offering through their application before.
