YouTube is now announcing a change to how notifications work on its mobile apps, where they will stop notifications if users don't interact with notifications from a channel, or don't watch videos published by that channel.
YouTube says that sometimes users may mistakenly opt in to receive notifications from a channel, and according to its data, many do not interact with notifications when a channel publishes a video. Sometimes, users turn on notifications to support a channel, but do not interact with the channel after a while.
YouTube says that this change is only for the mobile app, and you can still access all notifications in the inbox on desktop or web.
If you interact and watch all videos from a channel's notifications, then nothing will change for you.
