In China, various companies are ready to race to produce humanoid robots, which are expected to help in performing a number of tasks. Now, in an effort to control and make them more manageable, China is seen wanting to give each robot it produces its own digital identity.
Through this, each robot is expected to be given a specific code, and it will last throughout the robot's operation. Roughly speaking, it is seen as operating as an identification card for robots.
This step is also said to help in controlling any risks, as well as simplifying the regulatory process. The code will also be able to identify the responsible manufacturer, identify the type of robot, and a code to distinguish each unit.
With China starting this initiative, we may see more countries also introducing "identification cards" for robots.
