Last week, an incident regarding the hacking of NVIDIA's database was reported through its GeForce NOW game streaming service. NVIDIA has just released an official statement recently, and has confirmed that a hacking incident has occurred, but it has not affected NVIDIA.
According to NVIDIA, what happened was that a service partner that helps offer the GeForce NOW service was hacked, and the incident resulted in the data of a number of users of the service in Armenia being stolen. NVIDIA's investigation found that NVIDIA's own data was not affected by the hacking attack
“Our investigation found no impact to NVIDIA-operated services. The issue is limited to systems run by a third-party GeForce NOW Alliance partner based in Armenia. We are working closely with the partner to support their investigation and resolution. Impacted users will be notified by GFN.am.
According to a post on Breach Forums, the hackers said they had successfully obtained details of names, addresses, usernames, dates of birth, membership status and 2FA security, among others.
NVIDIA's statement shows that this data only involves the GFN.am service which is based in Armenia, and is one of the GeForce Alliance service provider partners, similar to what is offered by Yes in Malaysia, which is the GeForce NOW service provider in Malaysia.
