Nintendo Switch Series Game Console Prices to Increase Soon

In perhaps unsurprising news, Nintendo today announced that the gaming company will be increasing the prices of its Nintendo Switch series console offerings, which include all of its current console offerings, from the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch OLED and Nintendo Switch 2.

According to the announcement, these consoles will see a price increase for the Japanese market starting May 25, 2026.

The consoles for the Japanese market will see an average price increase of about 10 thousand yen for all of these consoles, mainly due to the current RAM shortage disaster.

The Nintendo Switch 2 console price tag will also be shown in the United States, Canada and Europe markets starting September 1, 2026, where the console for the US market will see a $50 increase from $449 to $499. For the Canadian market, the new price of the Nintendo Switch 2 is $CAD679.99 while in Europe, it will be increased to 499.99 Euros.

Since the Nintendo Switch is now officially available in the Malaysian market, it is expected that the issue of the console's price increase will also affect the local market. However, at this time we do not know what the new price of the Nintendo Switch will be, and when the increase will occur.

Currently, the Nintendo Switch 2 is offered at the Nintendo Malaysia Official Store on Shopee at a price of RM2288.
