News about the compact gimbal-based camera that Vivo is developing is now getting more interesting. It is aimed at competing with DJI products, especially the Osmo Pocket series, and its existence is clearly aimed at those who want a compact camera with a built-in gimbal.
The latest viral information says that the product may be named Vivo Pocket. The main specifications mentioned include the use of a large 1/1.1-inch sensor along with a Sony LYT-901 200MP sensor.
This means that it is designed with an approach equivalent to the camera system of flagship smartphones, which is not surprising since Vivo has a flagship series focused on camera systems.
The original launch schedule was expected to appear in September but was postponed to the end of the year because competitors are also developing similar products. For example, Oppo is developing the same project while Huawei is expected to follow around 2027.
The only question arises about Honor's direction, because they have already introduced the Robot Phone with a built-in gimbal during MWC 2026. However, the further status of the device's offerings is still unclear since there have been no updates after that.
