Apple's Foldable Phone Reportedly Using Samsung Display's OLED Screen

Apple is expected to launch its first foldable phone with a foldable OLED screen supplied by Samsung Display.

This panel is said to use a new technology called (M16) that has never been used in any commercial device. The technology is capable of offering higher brightness, more accurate colors, longer lifespan, and better energy efficiency. In addition, it is expected to also incorporate special technology to further improve display quality. With these advantages, Apple's foldable phone has the potential to be a major competitor to Samsung's own latest model.

Samsung Display is reported to be shipping 3 million foldable OLED screens to Apple this year for the company's first foldable phone. They will be the exclusive supplier of both the outer and inner screens after Apple gives approval due to the manufacturing yield rate exceeding 80%. At the same time, the manufacturing facility in Vietnam has started operating and Samsung Display is expected to remain the exclusive supplier of the panel for a period of three years.

Apple's foldable phone seems to be getting closer to being launched. However, its launch date has not yet been confirmed. It is possible that it will be announced alongside Apple's new phone series in September.
