After months of rumors and leaked images, the Insta360 Luna Ultra has finally been launched in Malaysia today. This compact gimbal camera is unique because it is equipped with dual cameras when usually only one camera is provided.
The five-axis gimbal provides stability when recording videos and photos. It is equipped with a wide-angle lens matched with a 1″ sensor and a Leica Summicron f/1.8 lens and a telephoto lens with 1/1.3″ f/2.0 with up to 12X zoom capability. Video recording capabilities are up to 8K30fps, Dolby Vision, and 10‑bit I‑Log. Photo recording is up to 37MP UltraPhotos or 200MP panorama.
Because of the use of Leica lenses, the software offers Leica Natural, Vivid, and Chrome color profiles like on Xiaomi cameras. There is support for stabilization, object tracking, and AI technology to help edit and find interesting scenes automatically.
What makes this camera unique (apart from the dual cameras) is the detachable touchscreen. This 2″ OLED screen can then be used as a remote control up to 20m away. Storage is quite small at only 47GB but a microSD card can be used to expand storage up to 1TB.
A 1550 mAH battery is included to provide up to 4 hours of recording time. Fast charging is supported allowing the battery to be charged up to 80% in just 23 minutes.
In Malaysia, the Insta360 Luna Ultra is priced at RM2999 in Cosmic Black and Stellar White color options.
