Meta was previously ready to introduce their smart glasses in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica, where they have offered smart glasses under the Ray-Ban and Oakley brands. In parallel, Meta continues to increase investment in this wearable device arena, and now also introduces their own branded glasses, called Meta Glasses.
Meta Glasses are still being developed in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica, but do not use other branding to market them, and continue to rely entirely on the Meta brand. However, as before, these smart glasses are not offered for the Malaysian market at this time.
Meta Glasses come with a camera on the front, speaker integration, and also an action button on it. The action button can be customized to activate Meta AI or any specific application or feature. With this step, you can easily record, listen to songs, and at the same time ask Meta AI various things, and get an immediate response through it. These smart glasses offer up to 8 hours of battery life, and also come with their own charging case that offers energy storage for up to 40 hours of use.
Under these Meta Glasses, a number of different patterns and designs are offered by Meta. The included Meta AI is also based on the latest model that Meta recently introduced. In the United States, these Meta Glasses are offered at a starting price of $299, which is much cheaper than their various competitors in the smart glasses arena.
With this more competitive price, Meta is expected to be able to reach more users, while continuing to strengthen their position in the smart glasses arena which is expected to become a new arena for competition among device manufacturers around the world – not to mention the development of the current era of artificial intelligence.
