Microsoft Returns to Offering Exclusive Games on Xbox

When Forza, Sea of Thieves, Gears of War and Halo were offered on PlayStation for the past two years, many saw it as Microsoft waving the white flag to Sony. The current-generation console war was officially won by Sony. Xbox fans were furious because they saw that loyalty to supporting this console was meaningless.

But at the XBOX Games Showcase 2026 which took place early this morning, Microsoft announced that they would return to offering console games exclusively on Xbox. The two games that are returning to being exclusive are Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution. Games that were previously announced for other consoles such as Halo: Campaign Evolved will continue as promised.

This decision was taken by Xbox to revive the console brand that has been sinking a bit lately. It is also not surprising because Sony also announced that Sony Studios' solo games will no longer be offered on PC and other consoles. All of this is seen as not to give games to the Steam Machine that will be sold this summer.

The console war that was thought to be over seems to be just a truce. With no new consoles to be launched due to the RAM crisis, the second phase of the console war has now begun. Who will be the winner?
