Realme 16 was launched in Malaysia today as a mid-range device. It focuses on a large battery in a thin body, thus offering convenience in daily use.
The device comes with a 6.57-inch AMOLED screen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4,200 nits. It has a slim design measuring 8.1mm and weighs 183 grams, and uses flat sides and rounded corners for a more comfortable experience. The back panel features a layered ‘Gleaming Wings’ pattern with an anti-fingerprint coating.
The device is also powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chip with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage and uses the Android 16 operating system with the Realme UI 7.0 interface. It is expected to receive three Android system upgrades and security updates for four years. Realme 16 5G is also equipped with a 7,000mAh battery with 60W fast charging support.
The rear camera is equipped with a 50MP Sony IMX852 main camera with 2MP depth and a selfie mirror on the back to produce quality selfies using the main camera. The front camera uses a 50MP camera for selfies and video calls. Additional features include a ring-shaped LED flash, AI Edit Genie, Vibe Master mode and motion-based recording control for a better photography experience.
Realme 16 5G is sold in Malaysia at RM1,599. There is also a promotional price in conjunction with the launch of RM1,499 for a limited time. Buyers will also receive free gifts up to RM537 including an Aisolove hand fan, a one-year extended warranty and 180 days of cracked screen protection.
