At Twitchcon, Twitch announced a feature that will surely please those who often get a headache about which streaming format to choose. Landscape or vertical? With Dual Format, streamers can do both at the same time
This is because Twitch realizes that more and more people are streaming from smartphones. Dual Format automatically changes the order of the content being streamed according to the device used to watch.
On smartphones, for example, gameplay videos are placed on top and below them is a second video of the streamer's face when the phone is held vertically.
When the phone is held in landscape position, the gameplay videos will automatically be the main focus with the streamer's face placed in a small window just like watching on a computer.
Also announced is support for streaming at 1440p resolution for Partners and Affiliates starting this month with bitrates up to 9 Mbps/1440p and 7.5 Mbps/ 1080p.
Dual Format is still in beta and supports streaming via OBS, Streamrun, Streamlabs, Meld, and XSplit. For further settings guides, please go to the link below.
