DJI AP100 is a special parachute system for DJI M400 drones. This system is designed to improve operational safety, allowing the drone to be used in risky areas with more confidence. With its fast response technology and controlled descent rate, the AP100 provides additional protection for people and equipment, while meeting international safety standards set by aviation authorities.
The AP100 is also equipped with a dual support system that ensures the parachute remains functional even if a major component of the drone fails. It has its own power and sensors, as well as a separate motor cut-off system (Flight Termination System) that does not rely on the main flight controller. With this dual support system, operational safety can be improved because each function has an additional layer of protection in the event of a problem.
The AP100 also allows the drone to be used in urban areas in Visual Line of Sight (VLOS) operations, which are flights controlled with the operator's direct line of sight. It is also suitable for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) missions, i.e. flights beyond the operator’s visual line of sight with the help of additional systems such as cameras and sensors, with strict safety requirements.
This system is also part of the risk mitigation strategy set by authorities such as the CAA and EASA. The AP100 can also help operators obtain operating permits more easily by meeting mandatory safety requirements.
