Three years ago, Google NotebookLM was launched as a tool to summarize long documents such as lecture notes to make them easier to read. It is a tool that I personally use to plan long works that require more than one reference source. It then came with a feature to convert notes into audio notes before it can also automatically generate podcasts.
With its features growing and advancing, Google rebranded NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook this morning. So far, Gemini Notebook has been accessed by 30 million users and 600,000 organizations. It still remains a standalone product used as a primary research tool with deeper integration with the Gemini and Google Search applications.
With the rebranding, Gemini Notebook receives built-in secure cloud computing features. It can also write and execute code natively, facilitating complex data analysis based on user sources. Gemini Notebook will also be accessible in Google Search AI Mode in addition to the Gemini and Gemini Notebook applications.
This new feature can be used by Google AI Ultra and Woerkspace customers starting today. For Google AI Pro customers, it will be accessible via the web in just a few weeks.
