The iPad Mini has undergone seven iterations since it was first launched in 2012. With a screen of just 8.3″, it is the tablet of choice for children or for those looking for a small gaming tablet.
Until now, the iPad Mini has only been equipped with an LCD screen. But this year, it will be updated with an OLED screen according to a Bloomberg report. The OLED panel allows the display to look more vibrant. But it is still limited to a refresh rate of only 60Hz with Apple apparently only giving the ProMotion panel to higher-end devices.
Also set to be updated is the iPad with a new model set to be launched in early 2027. The chip is upgraded with it being paired with 8GB of memory to enable it to use Apple Intelligence. Finally, the 13″ and 11″ iPad Airs will also be updated but still with LCD panels.
