OpenAI now says that their Codex and ChatGPT Work services have over 10 million active users, showing a drastic increase in enterprise and business users on their platform.
Codex is a programming agent offering by OpenAI, making it easier for developers to perform programming tasks involving applications and the web. ChatGPT Work is marketed as a task agent, primarily for enterprise users.
OpenAI previously focused solely on the general public, and was seen to be missing out on the enterprise and paying market such as developers and others. This market was previously dominated by Anthropic, before OpenAI restructured and focused on this market.
Previously, OpenAI has also discontinued a number of products under their umbrella, including Sora, which focuses on video generation, and their Atlas web browser. The latest version offered by OpenAI is GPT-5.6, with a flagship model called Sol that is optimized for programming tasks.
