OpenAI still has its sights set on launching its first physical product this year despite facing a lawsuit from Apple claiming that company secrets were stolen by former employees who now work at the AI company. There have been many rumors about this first product and Mark Gurman at Bloomberg has shared the latest information.
According to him, the first product is a self-moving screenless smart speaker. The artificial intelligence (AI) used will learn the habits of users and after some time understand their wishes. Conversations with this speaker will be like chatting with a real human who accompanies the user.
How it moves is not explained but the concept of this product is different from the rumors of OpenAI launching smart pendants like the AI Pin that failed a few years ago. This smart speaker is being touched by former Apple employees who have already moved on.
Although the concept is different, it still has some similarities with the rumors of the new HomePod with a rotating robotic arm equipped with a screen that Apple is said to be developing.
