PMX AI Service Momentarily Suspended for Upgrade

Last Saturday, Prime Minister Dato’s Seri Anwar Ibrahim launched his artificial intelligence (AI) avatar named PMX AI. PMX AI allows the public to chat with the Prime Minister virtually through a bot trained to give answers like himself. But yesterday, a day after its launch, the PMX AI service was temporarily suspended for the upgrade process.

If a conversation is attempted with MX AI via WhatsApp, a notification says it is suspended until 8pm today. It is not explained what the upgrade process needs to be done after just one day of launch.

But on social media, there are several screenshots showing PMX AI giving answers that can be categorized as not in line with the PM’s real political opinions. For example, it gave racist answers and some even encouraged people to vote for the opposing political party ahead of the Negeri Sembilan general election. This may be the real reason why PMX AI needs to be “upgraded” to prevent the chatbot from giving more embarrassing answers.

This embarrassing incident should have been expected by the developer of PMX AI, Zetrix AI. It happened to Microsoft's AI chatbot Grok on the X platform, which could be forced to give inappropriate answers.

Microsoft went on to end its chatbot experiments, with Grok temporarily shut down to put more security restrictions in place to prevent it from claiming to be MechaHitler again.
