Redmi Note 17 and 17 Pro Launched With 7″ Screen and 9000 mAh Battery

In 2014, I reviewed the Xiaomi Redmi Note which had a 5.5″ screen which was labeled giant at the time. After a dozen years, the Redmi Note 17 and 17 Pro were launched yesterday with a much larger screen of up to 7″ and a battery that is also high capacity.

Let's start with the Redmi Note 17 which comes with a 7″ OLED 120Hz screen, powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chip, up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM, up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage (with micro SD slot) and an 8000 mAh battery that supports 45W charging.

This is matched with a 50MP main camera and an 8MP selfie camera. It is rare to see a model device offered with only one main camera. Completing the specifications is that the device passes the IP65 waterproof and dustproof standards.

Next, the Redmi Note 17 Pro comes with a 6.83″ OLED 120Hz screen, powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip, up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM, up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage and a 9000 mAh battery that supports 67W faster charging.

This is paired with a 50MP main camera and 2MP depth with an 8MP selfie camera. It is rare to see a model device offered with only one main camera. Completing the specifications is the device using HyperOS 3, an under-screen fingerprint scanner, passing the IP69K waterproof and dustproof standards, stereo speakers, IR emitter and no micro SD card slot.

In China, the selling price of the Redmi Note 17 starts at RMB 1,300 (~RM 782) for the 6/128GB version and the Redmi Note 17 Pro starts at RMB 1,600 (1RM 962) for the 8/128GB version.
