The Ricoh GR series began with the launch of the iconic RICOH GR1 film camera in October 1996 and has since been the foundation for the evolution of GR cameras to this day. In conjunction with its 30th anniversary, Ricoh is celebrating this historic milestone by introducing the limited edition RICOH GR IV 30th Anniversary Edition model.
The model will be offered in a limited edition of 6,000 units worldwide and comes with several exclusive features. For example, the shutter button and rear button use paint colors inspired by the classic GR1 while a special GN‑3 (30th) ring cap with a diamond-cut finish is included. The camera also features a special 30th Anniversary display that appears when turned off. However, the technical specifications remain the same as the standard GRIV model.
In addition to the changes to the camera body, this special edition also comes with additional accessories in the form of a metal cap and a strap with a 30th anniversary motif. Interestingly, the GK‑2 (30th) metal camera cover and GS‑4 (30th) strap will also be sold separately for users who did not have the opportunity to get this special edition. In fact, these accessories are also planned to be offered to GRIII and GRIIIx series users in the future.
Unfortunately, information on the price and official sales date for the Ricoh GR IV 30th Anniversary Edition has not yet been announced. Based on the announcement, this product is scheduled to be available around autumn 2026. Further details including price and official date will be shared by Ricoh at the launch event later.
