Samsung Launches New Tandem OLED Technology for Laptops

Samsung has announced a new Tandem OLED screen technology developed specifically for laptops. It is the first panel to surpass the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1400 brightness standard, with a peak brightness of 1600 nits. This is 40% brighter than previous panels.

With Tandem OLED technology, two OLED panels are stacked to increase the brightness of the panel. The workload is shared between the two OILED layers, making normal use less stressful on the panel. Samsung claims a lifespan of more than double that of regular OLED panels in normal laptop use.

The first product with the panel is the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition (Gen-11). Asus, Dell and MSI are expected to launch laptops with the same panel in the second half of 2026.
