Windows 11 Search Now Focuses on Files Stored on Your PC

Microsoft is updating the Search function in Windows 11 by finally focusing on searching for files stored on your PC, removing ads, making the display clearer, and improving search accuracy. This more useful Search can already be tested by Windows Insiders.

It is a big change because previously in Windows 11, when a file search was performed, it would often display a link to Bing which was not helpful to the user. With the new search function, it finally gives importance to the files on your PC, settings on your PC and installed applications.

In addition, the search interface is also cleaner without displaying ads, web searches and recommended Windows products. Another big change is that Search will be able to search for files even if the user makes a typo. For example, you want to search for Outlook but you typed Utlook incorrectly and the system still knows what exactly needs to be displayed.

This is one of the big "Windows K2" initiatives that tries to resolve various issues raised by Windows 11 users. Microsoft has so far enabled a feature to skip the update process when the PC is first turned on and allow security patches to be paused for a while.
