Qualcomm Reveals More Details About Snapdragon C Chip

Qualcomm has introduced its affordable processor series for laptops and tablets, the Qualcomm Snapdragon C, in the middle of this year as a way to compete with the affordable MacBook Neo laptop.

Recently, it seems that Qualcomm has revealed some new details about the processor chip. It seems that it will come with Kryo CPU cores with eight physical cores built in, and will use Adreno graphics cores with Hexagon NPU (AI chip).

This Snapdragon C CPU will come with a single-core speed of up to 3.0GHz and a multi-core speed of 2.0GHz, with the Adreno graphics chip clocked at 900MHz. For now, the capabilities of the Hexagon NPU have not been shown yet. Apart from that, this processor chip is also seen to be able to support up to 16GB of LPDDR5 memory and NVMe PCIe 3.0, UFS 2.2 and UFS 3.1 SSD storage. In terms of wireless connectivity, this chip supports WiFi6E and Bluetooth 6.0.

In terms of performance, Qualcomm says that the Snapdragon C chip has 67 percent better performance and 2.1 times more battery power efficiency than the Intel N250 processor chip. They also say that leading laptop brands such as Acer, ASUS, HP and Lenovo will be among the first brands to come out with laptop models using this chip.
