Google is making its main apps easier to control with voice commands through Gemini Audio. This technology allows users to give verbal commands to manage daily tasks without relying entirely on typed text. The Gemini Audio model was first previewed during the I/O event earlier today, and is now offered first in three main apps: Gmail, Docs, and Keep.
Through Gmail Live, users can search and manage emails with voice commands, and the system provides answers based on the content of the relevant email. In Docs Live, voice acts as a co-author who helps spontaneously convey ideas before Gemini organizes them into a more organized draft. Meanwhile, Keep Live allows voice notes to be automatically converted into lists or checklists, for example, mentioning the items needed and immediately producing a complete list.
For now, Gmail Live and Docs Live are available on iOS and Android for Google AI Plus customers. Keep Live is also launching first on Android for Pro and Ultra users. For Enterprise or Workspace customers, this feature will be offered in the near future.
