Intel is expected to unveil its upcoming Intel Nova Lake processors later this year, with desktop-class chips likely to be showcased before the laptop series is introduced.
Recently, information has surfaced revealing the first laptop to be powered by this processor series: the HP EliteBook X G3i. This information emerged via benchmark data from SiSoftware that was uploaded to their website.
The benchmark listing displays the laptop's model name alongside the HP 8FF4 motherboard and a processor identified as "Genuine Intel(R) 0000." We anticipate that the specific processor name has not yet been finalized, as the chip is likely still in the testing phase.
The software also revealed other details about the processor, including that it features 20 cores, speeds of up to 4.6GHz, and up to 18MB of L3 cache.
The HP EliteBook X G3i is the latest model in the EliteBook X series; the current model, the HP EliteBook X G2i, is powered by the Intel Panther Lake processor series. As we previously reported, the Intel Nova Lake series is expected to succeed Panther Lake, and this serves as the most concrete evidence of that transition to date.
