Lenovo Project AeroBlade 10mm Thin But Still Has Active Cooling

Thin laptops like the MacBook Air don't have an active cooling system. As a result, when running heavy applications like video games, performance will suffer when the chip overheats. For a long time, the industry has said that thin devices cannot be equipped with an active cooling system because the physical fan is too thick.

At IFA Berlin, the Project AeroBlade Concept laptop was shown with an active cooling system but is still 10mm thin. This is almost as thick as a Z Fold8 (9.7mm) in the closed position.

The active cooling system can be used on the Project AeroBlade Concept because it uses AirJet technology developed by Frore Systems. The MEMS membrane in the cooling system works without moving components to produce airflow without mechanical components, the fan rotates and will not collect dust. It also operates silently. The Active Flow cooling system components are only 2.7mm thick.

The Project AeroBlade is made of magnesium-aluminum material, equipped with an OLED screen, Thunderbolt 4 connection support, and Wi-Fi 7 in a thin laptop. For now, Project AeroBlade Concept is still just a concept with no plans to offer it commercially.
