Apple will no longer sell Mac computers with Intel chips. macOS 27 Golden Gate is the first to only support Macs with Apple Silicon. In line with that, Apple has now said that applications offered through the Mac App Store are no longer required to support Macs with Intel chips.
In a memo sent to developers, any applications developed for macOS 13 and above will no longer need to support Macs with Intel chips. This, according to Apple, will make it easier to develop applications for macOS in the future.
In addition, Apple will also discontinue support for Rosetta 2, which allows applications developed for Intel chips to run on Apple Silicon devices. Applications that still support Rosetta will stop working after the macOS 27 Golden Gate update.
