Just last month, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia launched the CLA 250+; today, they announced the arrival of another electric model for the local market. The Mercedes GLC 300 4M Electric is the latest EV in their lineup to utilize the new, highly energy-efficient MB.EAM architecture. Locally, it is offered in two versions: Avantgarde and AMG Line Plus.
The differences between the two versions lie in rim size and specific trim details. The AMG Line Plus variant features a sportier spoiler, exclusive MANUFAKTUR Grey and MANUFAKTUR Red color options, the Sports Seat Package, and 21-inch AMG wheels.
Beyond these differences, both versions feature all-wheel drive but with distinct operational characteristics; the rear motor is equipped with a two-speed setup to enhance energy efficiency. The front motor operates based on driving patterns—remaining inactive during relaxed driving but engaging instantly when more aggressive performance is required. The combined output from both motors is 310 kW and 800 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0–100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h.
Utilizing the latest EV technology architecture, the Mercedes GLC 300 4M Electric houses an 85 kWh battery capable of delivering a range of up to 616 km (WLTP) with an energy consumption rate as low as 15.9 kWh/100 km. It also features an 800V charging architecture, enabling 320 kW DC fast charging that takes the battery from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes. For AC charging, the 22kW AC system allows for a 0–100% charge in approximately 4 hours.
While the Mercedes CLA features 142 three-pointed stars on its front grille, the GLC 300 boasts a more unique design with 942 pixel-like squares capable of animation. In terms of storage, it offers a 570-litre rear boot, which expands to 1,740 litres when the rear seats are folded down. Despite being an all-wheel-drive vehicle, the GLC 300 Electric still includes a 128-litre front storage compartment (frunk).
Other features include a panoramic roof with glass that can switch between transparent and opaque states, a Burmester 3D Surround Sound system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, wireless charging, augmented reality navigation, a 360-degree camera, a Level 2 autonomous driving system, and the 39-inch MBUX Hyperscreen display.
You can book the Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4M Electric at RM389,000 for the Avantgarde version, or RM399,000 for the AMG Line Plus version. By opting for the Agility+ financing plan, you can own this latest electric vehicle from Mercedes-Benz Malaysia with monthly payments starting from as low as RM4,288.
