Since operating Malaysia's second 5G network and launching its own ULTRA5G network, U Mobile has emerged as one of the top local telecommunications companies in Malaysia, according to reports by Ookla and OpenSignal—two globally recognized and trusted firms for telecommunications network auditing and testing.
U Mobile recently received two accolades at the Ookla Speedtest Awards: Best Mobile Network in Malaysia and Fastest 5G Network in Malaysia for the first half of 2026 (Q1–Q2 2026).
U Mobile achieved the highest Speedtest Connectivity Score of 80.34 points—a metric that measures real-world network performance by combining speed, web browsing, and video streaming capabilities. The company also recorded the highest 5G Speed Score (67.26 points) and the fastest median 5G download speed in Malaysia, clocking in at 348.73 Mbps.
Network quality reports from OpenSignal also indicate that U Mobile’s network has improved rapidly—particularly in terms of reliability—registering a 99-point increase compared to the previous report.
Echoing Ookla’s findings, the OpenSignal report suggests that U Mobile’s ULTRA5G network is not only the most stable but also the fastest in Malaysia, as evidenced by its wins in the "Download Speed Experience" and "Upload Speed Experience" categories.
In fact, U Mobile has secured 51 awards outright and shared another 64 OpenSignal awards, establishing itself as the telecommunications provider offering the best network quality and user experience in Malaysia to date. Reports by Ookla and OpenSignal show the increased strength and capabilities of U Mobile's ULTRA5G network and the advantages it offers to their customers, such as faster and consistent speeds.
