Anthropic has revealed that Claude now spearheads one-quarter—or approximately 26%—of research and development tasks. This enables Claude to handle a significant volume of work under human supervision within the realm of next-generation AI and technology development.
This figure represents a sharp increase compared to the mere 1% of related tasks recorded as recently as March 2026. Given this trajectory, it is highly likely that the figure will grow rapidly in the coming months, alongside the evolution of increasingly intelligent and capable models.
At the same time, Anthropic has expressed concerns regarding models driving their own development for future generations; however, the process currently remains under control through human oversight.
