Xiaomi Becomes European Mobile Phone Market In Q2 2021


Xiaomi recently overtook Apple and became the second largest smartphone vendor in the world. Xiaomi’s pursuit doesn’t seem to stop as they have just become the dominant European mobile market in the second quarter of 2021.
Based on the Strategy Analysis report, Xiaomi ranked first with a market share of 25.3% after shipping 12.7 million units of mobile phones in Q2 2021. This Chinese seller also recorded a remarkable growth of 67% year -on -year.



"The highlight of the quarter was Xiaomi emerging as the number one vendor in terms of shipments for the first time. “Xiaomi has had great success in Russia, Ukraine, Spain, Italy and others and is looking for customers who want the Mi and Redmi series that are rich in features and selling value,” he continued.



Meanwhile, Samsung, which previously dominated the European market, fell to second place with a 24 per cent market share and a total shipment of 12 million units. But their year-over-year growth is actually down 7%.





In third place is Apple with a 19.2% market share and shipments of 9.6 million units. The iPhone manufacturer recorded a growth of 15.7% over the same period last year.



Positions four and five were filled by Oppo and Realme, which shipped 2.8 million units (with a market share of 5.6%) and 1.9 million units (respectively with a market share of 3.8%. Realme managed to become the vendor with the most growth). that is 1,800% compared to Q2 2020.
