Huawei Technologies' Consumer BG CEO Yu Chengdong said the number of users upgrading to HarmonyOS 2 has now exceeded 100 million users.
"Thank you for having you, and hope to continue to have you in the future. In the future, we will not forget our original intentions and strive to provide you with the best full scene experience," he said.
According to a report, hundreds of models have been upgraded to Huawei HarmonyOS 2 and in the near future Huawei HarmonyOS 2 will be open to upgrades for more models including many older smartphones and tablets from Huawei and Honor.
Huawei also raised its target from 300 million units to 400 million units, considering that reaching 100 million is considered quite fast.
It is known that Huawei officially released the HarmonyOS system on June 2, 2021. In the first week to be precise on June 9, it had more than 10 million HarmonyOS users. Within two weeks, it already had more than 18 million users.
After one month of upgrade, HarmonyOS has over 25 million users. By the end of July, this figure had risen to more than 40 million. In less than two months, in early August this operating system had more than 50 million users.
As of August 30, HarmonyOS has over 70 million active users. However, a few days later (September 2), the company announced that it had more than 90 million users.
And Now, the latest report shows that HarmonyOS now has more than 100 million users. It is clear that the system will have more than 300 million users before the end of this year. This update is Huawei's biggest system update in its history.
As of now, more than 56 older models from Huawei and Honor have received this update. Most of these devices will not get the major EMUI update anymore.
Huawei said more than 300 million devices of which 200 million Huawei devices and 100 million third-party devices will have this update this year.
Considering the widespread release of HarmonyOS, it will be a huge force to be reckoned with if Huawei continues at this pace. It will not be like many other failed operating systems that spent several years on the market.
