AirPods Pro Get Features Similar to Airtags

Apple released a new firmware for the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max that makes it have features similar to AirTags.

This feature allows users to search for their AirPods using the Find My application. Actually, using the Find My application to search for AirPods was previously possible, but it only recorded the last location of the AirPods when connected to the cellphone, and also played a sound to make it easier to find.

Now, users can activate Lost Mode if their AirPods are lost and take advantage of millions of iPhones, iPads, and Macs around the world to find those AirPods.

If the AirPods are within Bluetooth range of the Apple device, the owner will receive a notification and information on their location.

Then Apple also added a Find Nearby feature to find AirPods Pro and Max that are tucked away but in a position that is still close to the owner. The location accuracy is not as good as AirTags, because there is no U1 chip in the AirPods, so the search is only based on Bluetooth signal strength, namely far, near, or here.

Users will get a notification if they leave their AirPods somewhere.

To get these new features, users can simply update their AirPods Pro and Max firmware. But unfortunately, until now there is no way to manually update the firmware, aka purely depending on the system to update the firmware automatically.

Users can only check whether the AirPods firmware is the latest version that has the above features. This latest firmware is version '4A400', which can be seen by:
