Spotify Makes iPhone Batteries Wasteful and Heats Up Fast, Here Are the Tips

In recent years the iPhone has developed a reputation for having a pretty solid battery life than ever before, especially the so-called iPhone 13 battery. However, unfortunately, it was recently reported that the iPhone battery was draining when using the Spotify music streaming application.

Spotify users who use an iPhone with iOS 14.8 or iOS 15 may find their iPhone battery drains faster when using the Spotify service. They lose as much as 30% of their battery in just one hour while using the app.

This has even been acknowledged by Spotify, who stated that there was a problem in their application and made the battery consumption on the device much more wasteful. This more extravagant power consumption is also followed by a significant increase in temperature on the iPhone.

Thus, there is a solution for those of you iPhone users who often use the Spotify application so that the battery does not drain quickly. Summarized by deitkINET from LifeHacker, here are the tips.

The first thing you should try is to disable Background App Refresh. This feature allows Spotify to use data in the background, essentially allowing the app to run when inactive.

To disable it go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh, then disable the toggle next to "Spotify."

If you are still experiencing battery drain while using Spotify, the next step you can try is uninstalling and reinstalling the app. The hope is that a fresh copy of Spotify on iPhone will give a boot to whatever bug is causing this battery issue.

To do so, long-press the Spotify app on the Home Screen select "Delete App," then tap "Delete App." Now, open Spotify on the App Store, and re-download it.

If this step still doesn't work, unfortunately you will have to wait for Spotify to officially release a patch for this problem.
