Universal Music Group began to enter the world of Metaverse by bringing famous artists. There are Justin Bieber, Rihanna to Shawn Mendes who entered the list. The record company is working with avatar company Genies to create digital versions of its artists, as well as non-fungible token (NFT) clothing and accessories, for use in the virtual world.
In essence, they wanted to give Universal artists an official virtual identity for the metaverse. Now, the plan is Rihanna, Migos and others will join. In the coming months, through the NFT marketplace run by Genies, fans will be able to buy and sell virtual merchandise for their avatars.
This isn't the first thing Universal Music Group has made into the metaverse. Last month, he announced a virtual band of four characters from the NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club collection. This virtual band is a bit like Gorillaz, launches End Gadget.
Metaverse makes many other leading brands want to get into it, including Adidas, Nike, and others. Apart from Metaverse, brands like Fortnite and Roblox are already doing similar work. So is Zepeto, (a game that features the player's avatar (though it doesn't need to be VR).
