Folding Screen iPhone is being tested, when will it launch?

Apple is reportedly experimenting with several foldable iPhone prototypes. But according to tipster Dylandkt, a foldable iPhone might not be launching anytime soon.

In a tweet, Dylandkt said Apple still has concerns about folding screen phones, including about technology and the market for foldable phones.

Although currently many vendors from Asia have released folding screen phones, Dylandkt said Apple assesses that the current folding screen technology is not too sophisticated and there are still many compromises that must be resolved.

Apart from that, Apple is also concerned about the appeal of folding screen phones and whether these devices will remain popular among users or will become obsolete in the next few years.

Before releasing the folding screen iPhone, Apple wanted to make sure that the design of this device was not a 'regress' from the current iPhone form. This can happen if there is a problem with the durability and quality of the display which is affected by the folding screen form factor.

Dylandkt's tweet indicates that Apple is taking a wait-and-see step regarding foldable phone technology, but some analysts say that Apple will release a foldable phone in 2023, as quoted by MacRumors, Monday (10/1/2022).

Rumors about a foldable iPhone have been circulating since 2016. Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo last year said Apple was developing a foldable iPhone with an 8-inch QHD+ OLED screen that will be released in 2023.

Meanwhile, DSCC analyst Ross Young said that the foldable iPhone will be launched in 2023 as soon as possible, but the most reasonable target is 2024. In early 2021, Bloomberg said that the development of the folding screen iPhone was in its early stages but still needed a few more years before it was launched. .
