Overwhelmed by orders, Oppo claims Find N is selling well

The Oppo Find N folding screen phone was only released in mid-December 2021, and the first batch sold out immediately.

Oppo claims that there is a very high demand for folding screen phones and they have difficulty fulfilling orders from potential buyers. According to Oppo, there are currently a million people interested in buying the Find N.

This was revealed by Liu Bobbee, President of Oppo China, who said the phone attracted a lot of enthusiasts because the price was quite attractive for a folding screen phone, namely USD 1,200 and USD 1,400.

Another factor that makes the Find N interesting according to him is its relatively small dimensions and the screen folds that are almost invisible, as quoted from GSM Arena, Tuesday (11/1/2022).

For information, the system used to purchase Find is similar to that of not pre-order, where the buyer immediately pays for the product he wants to order and then waits for the item to be shipped.

The system used - as used in many other mobile phone orders in China - is that the prospective purchaser registers their email (without making payment) and waits to be notified if their cell phone is in stock.

As previously reported, the Oppo Find N folding screen phone was officially released at the INNO Day 2021 event. The price of the competitor's Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is quite tempting, because it is on par with the iPhone 13 Pro on the market.

"With the Oppo Find N, we aim to change people's perception of what smartphones can offer and start making foldable devices more accessible to a larger audience," said Pete Lau, Chief Product Officer of Oppo.

Oppo Find N has two screens. On the outside there is a screen measuring 5.49 inches, while on the inside 7.1 inches. When stretched, the inner screen has an aspect ratio of 8.4:9.

Then the hinge used on the folding screen is also special, because it can make the gap between the two screens when folded is almost non-existent. This makes it look better and also protects the inner screen from scratches.

Oppo capitalizes on the Find N with a Snapdragon 888 processor and 8GB or 12GB of LPPDR5 RAM. The internal memory is UFS 3.1 512 GB.

The embedded battery is 4,500 mAh with 33W Super VOOC Flash Charge charging. It promises to fully charge the device in 70 minutes.

This foldable smartphone supports 15W AIRVOOC wireless charging (compatible with Qi standard) and 10W reverse wireless charging.
