Resident Evil: Village Wins Game of The Year at the 2021 Steam Awards

 


The survival horror game, Resident Evil: Village, won the Game of The Year title at the 2021 Steam Awards. It beat other popular titles, from Valheim, New World, Cyberpunk 2077 and Forza Horizon 5.

The event itself has been taking place since December 2021, along with a special promo titled Steam Winter Sale. There are at least 10 categories that are presented to them. The voting deadline ends on January 3, 2022 at 09.00 PST or around January 4 at 12.00.


The categories are Game of The year, VR Game of The Year, Labor of Love, Better With Friends, Outstanding Visual Style, Most Innovative Gameplay, Best Game You Suck At, Best Soundtrack, Outstanding Story-Rich Game and Sit Back and Relax, quoted by us from the official Steam website, Tuesday (4/1/2021).



However, in the Outstanding Story-Rich Game category, Cyberpunk 2077 beat four other games including Resident Evil: Village, Life is Strange: True Colors, Days GoneMass Effect Legendary Edition.


Resident Evil Village itself has received various awards during 2021. This is the umpteenth time that a game made by Capcom has received. Previously, they had bought up four titles, at an event titled the 2021 Golden Joystick Awards.


There, this zombie-filled horror game, shows its might, after hooking Ultimate Game of The Year, PlayStation Game of The Year, Best Audio and Best Performance (Maggie Robertson as Lady Dimitrescu).


In addition, it also showed its fangs at the award event held by PlayStation. Through the Game of The Year event, Resident Evil Village received Best New Character by Lady Dimitrescu, Best Story and PS4 Game of The Year.


Even so, they have not been able to beat the toughness and popularity of It Takes Two at the annual The Game Awards 2021. Together with Deathloop, Metroid Dread, Psychonauts 2 and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Resident Evil: Village lost out to get the Game of The title. year.
