There are many things to do while fasting. Starting from preparing a bedtime schedule to waking up, preparing food for sahur and iftar, and most importantly self-preparation and the right intention. That way, a person can carry out activities as usual without worrying about being tired or lethargic even though they are fasting.
A healthy body is a provision for daily activities during fasting. By fasting too, a person can help the body in the process of detoxifying toxins.
Because during fasting the digestive organs take a break from the processing of food in the body. This does not mean that the body will lack energy, because during fasting a person will still pay attention to nutritional intake during sahur and iftar. So here are some tips so that during fasting, energy is maintained with a regular diet.
1. Don't Miss Sahur Time
Sahur is the only time to eat before holding back hunger and thirst all day long. You could say sahur is also a substitute for breakfast and lunch. So, eating sahur is recommended to maintain the body's metabolism and provide energy for activities during the day.
The function of sahur itself is actually not only holding back hunger during the day, but also maintaining sugar levels, stimulating digestion first thing in the morning, helping memory and concentration, and maintaining the body's metabolism.
2. Setting the Meal Menu for Suhoor and Iftar
Before fasting all day, everyone is encouraged to eat sahur. Similarly, when it is time to enter the Maghrib call to prayer, those who are fasting should immediately break their fast.
Well, in these two mealtime sessions it would be better if the meal menu was set. So that carbohydrates, nutrients, vitamins, and minerals will not be missed in every meal of the iftar or sahur menu.
This will be even easier if the meal menu schedule is written. The first way can be started by listing your favorite menu first. Then, it is continued by listing the materials needed and shopping. Next, separate the menus into their respective boxes to make it easier during the cooking process later.
3. Limiting Eating
Although it is natural for fasting people to want to eat again and again when breaking the fast or before the dawn call to prayer, it is better not to overeat and according to the portion. Also stay away from foods that do not contain nutrients, fatty, too spicy, too sour, or drinks that are too cold.
By rationing food according to its portion, the balance of the body will be maintained and not weak during the day. In fact, eating too much makes a person easily tired and sleepy because blood sugar rises. So, you can eat as long as you don't overdo it.
How about you, it's easy to find it difficult to maintain an ideal eating pattern during fasting. But don't worry, nothing is impossible to keep yourself healthy.
