Continue to Privacy or Privacy
At the top, click 'Last Seen'
There are three options, Everyone, My Contacts and Nobody

This one is a quick way to look offline when you are still online, by using the quick reply feature.
This feature will make incoming messages appear directly on the home screen and you can immediately reply to them. However, this feature is only for replying to messages, not for viewing photos or videos sent.
For Android Users
Tap the message that appears on the home screen
There are two options, 'Mark as read' or 'Reply'
If you want to reply, you can directly click reply and send a message when you're done
For iOS Users
Swipe left when a message arrives on the home screen.
Then you can immediately reply.
