Zoom highlighted the transformation of employees' work styles in Asia Pacific at the APAC Work Transformation Summit, held on Wednesday (27/4/2022).
According to Zoom, there are at least three main pillars in supporting work style transformation in an organization, which include the workplace, how work is done, and improving the quality of employees' work experience.
A Reimagines Work Survey conducted by Ernst & Young last year revealed that more than half of employees in Asia Pacific would quit their current jobs if the company did not offer post -pandemic job flexibility.
"If we consider the wasted time and emotional instability of traveling to and from work, then it should come as no surprise that employees want to maintain that flexibility," he added.
The future of work style at Zoom will focus on the ability to create a flexible work environment for employees. When the situation is safe to return to work in the office, Zoom's employee -focused work style will take the following form:
Face to face: Employees with roles or are hired to be in the office on a daily basis, as defined by roles and responsibilities.
Long -distance: Employees who were originally hired to work remotely or who have moved their permanent residence outside of a reasonable commute from their nearest Zoom office.
Hybrid: Employees with a reasonable travel distance who choose to go to the office for a certain number of days in a week or a month.
"After all, work is no longer a matter of place, but space. A space where we can collaborate. Work can be done from anywhere, as long as there is space for us to connect and collaborate. Space can be a home, office, or somewhere in between , "Ricky explained.
In the same event, Sergio Aguilera, Head of Engineering Solutions at Zoom, highlighted Zoom's latest products that support this work style, namely:
Zoom Rooms, an agnostic platform that allows real-time collaboration from a variety of places.
Workspace Reservations, which help employees to schedule in advance the space they will use and show the space available. Provide visibility of available resources.
Zoom for Home, designed to help workers connect and collaborate with experience personalization, where Zoom for Home allows users to match calendars, statuses, conference settings, and calls across devices for an integrated communication experience that prioritizes video.
Zoom Phone, allows users to stay connected and responsive, whether at work or on the go, with a seamless transition from mobile to video with Zoom Meetings.
Zoom Chat, which facilitates team and external participant collaboration with enterprise chat and instant video conferencing.
Zoom Whiteboard, which acts as a digital canvas that allows powerful and easy -to -use visual collaboration before, during, and after the Zoom conference.
Smart Gallery, a feature that will automatically detect participants in a room, and create a separate camera feed for each participant. This feature ensures that remote workers can collaborate digitally effectively, much like face -to -face communication.
Zoom Transcription, has been updated to provide greater parity, especially for individuals who may need more time to process a piece of content. The addition of real-time automatic translation capabilities- so far available in 12 languages- will make this feature an essential tool in areas with a multilingual population.
