USM Became The First To Introduce A Library With The Metamesta Concept

Universiti Sains Malaysia today introduced the library with the concept of "metamesta", or virtual-reality-thus becoming one of the first universities in Malaysia to introduce it.

With this step, it also allows students and the public to obtain information in three dimensions. In addition to finding information, it can also be used in viewing images, anatomical models, etc. in a three -dimensional format.

This metamesta library was introduced by the Institute of Advanced Medicine and Dentistry at USM - with a focus on more medicine.

To access it, one needs a dedicated virtual-reality device, and accesses a developed online internal system called the GoVR Portal.

The metamesta library move is also expected to further improve the quality and effectiveness of teaching and training at USM-especially in viewing medical anatomy models, etc. in 3D.
