While There's Still Time, Here Are 4 Practices You Can Do At Lailatulqadar Night

After fasting for weeks, we are finally reunited with the last 10 nights of Ramadan. During these times we are encouraged to look for the noble night, namely the night of Lailatulqadar.

The night of Lailatulqadar is so noble because in addition to being the night the Quran was revealed, it is also mentioned by the Messenger of Allah as a night that is better than a thousand months.

Lailatulqadar night is so special, Allah SWT even keeps the time of the night falling a secret. If you want to meet the night of Lailatulqadar, we Muslims are encouraged to look at one of the times between the odd nights in the last 10 days of Ramadan.

Given the magnitude of the blessings that we will receive if we have the opportunity to meet the night of Lailatulqadar, then we need to maximize the practice on that night. What practices can be followed?

iktikaf

Iktikaf is a typical practice that is mostly done in the last 10 nights of Ramadan. Literally, launching from the Owl Cation page, the term iktikaf means 'self-isolation' or silence. Iktikaf means worship by staying silent in the mosque to ensure those who carry out the worship can meet the descent of Lailatulqadar.

Not just silence, iktikaf is also a way to reflect on the greatness of Allah SWT. In addition, iktikaf also helps strengthen our faith in Allah and helps perfect the worship that we are already living.

remembrance

While doing iktikaf, you are also allowed to do other practices. You can do dhikr to glorify the name of Allah SWT. With dhikr, not only will you always remember Allah SWT, you will also get a lot of rewards.

When looking for the descent of the night of Lailatulqadar, there is a special prayer that you can read in between dhikr. Narrated in Sunan Tirmidhi, the Prophet taught the prayer Lailatulqadar to his wife Aisha.

The sound of the prayer is 'Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu'anni' which means 'O Allah, you are Most Forgiving and you love to forgive (remove mistakes), so forgive me (remove my sins)'

When you intend to do iktikaf, don't forget to read the prayer.

Evening Prayer

The next practice that can be done when the night of Lailatulqadar is night prayer. There are many sunnah prayers that can be performed on that night apart from tarawih prayers. You can perform the witr prayer, the hajat prayer, the tasbih prayer, and the tahajjud prayer.

Each of the night prayers has its own merits. Like the hajat prayer, it is done when you have a request to Allah SWT so that you hope that your wish will come true.

It is different from the tasbih prayer, although the duration is longer because you need to read the tasbih 300 times. But the reward is not kidding because it can erase the small sins that you have done.

Reciting Al-Qur'an

One practice that you may not miss to do on the night of Lailatulqadar is reading the holy verses of the Qur'an. Reading the Qur'an on the night of Lailatulqadar certainly brings a lot of rewards.

The night of Lailatulqadar itself has a blessing that is better than a thousand nights. When you do deeds including prayer, remembrance, and reading the Qur'an on the night of Lailatulqadar then it is the same as doing that practice for a thousand months or the equivalent of 83 years.

It's really amazing huh. Hopefully this information will make you more enthusiastic about seeking the blessings of the night of Lailatulqadar.
