American astronaut mocks Russia for having no money

The famous former NASA astronaut, Scott Kelly, is again attacking Russia, especially its space agency, Rocosmos. This man is known to be vocal in criticizing Russia, especially after the leadership of Roscosmos had said he would leave US astronauts in space.

Now, Kelly is highlighting Russia's threat to cut off cooperation with Russia and Europe on space projects. According to him, Russia will not be able to carry out a space project alone because of their weak economy.

As reported, the European space agency ESA broke its partnership with Russia regarding the Mars landing project due to the attack on Ukraine. Rocosmos replied that they could walk on their own without anyone's help.

"I'm pretty sure that there's probably a zero percent chance this thing will be successful. They don't have the money. You know, this (project) is expensive," Kelly said, quoted by Futurism.

In addition, according to the astronaut, Russia actually doesn't have that advanced space technology. Their only success was making Soyuz rockets as shuttle vehicles to the space station.

"They're not a very sophisticated nation when it comes to space. I mean, they made one thing that did a great job of launching 3 people into space and reliably enough to bring them home, that's all. You need a lot more to go to the Moon or Mars. In particular, you need money," he said.

Previously, Kelly criticized Rocosmos' threats to leave US astronaut Mark Van de Hei on the space station, although it did not happen. "It's inconceivable that the Russian space program would leave an astronaut in space that they are responsible for bringing home," he growled.
