The German Government Also Wants To Make The Country A Semiconductor Chip Manufacturing Hub

 


The issue of supply of semiconductor chip components is an issue that is still being fixed two years since it occurred due to the COVID-19 outbreak that plagued the world. A number of European countries are seen as the choice of companies such as Intel and TSMC to expand their supply chains.


German Economy Minister Robert Habeck said the government was ready to support the industry with financial support of 14 billion Euros (~ RM64 billion) for companies such as Intel, TSMC and Samsung.


In fact, Intel has previously identified a location in the Magdeburg area to build their processing chip manufacturing plant estimated to be worth 17 billion Euros. The German government is also said to have helped the local government with a fund of several billion Euros to ensure Intel chose the location as their factory site.


With the opening of the plant, the German government also hopes that several more important names in the semiconductor industry will start opening their plants in the country, which will not only increase the number of jobs in the country, but also enable the country to supply other industries in the country. those with small components that are important, especially for their automotive industry.
