Google Doodle Celebrates Dr Lim Boo Liat Who Pioneered The Field Of Zoology In Malaysia

Today’s Google Doodle looks cute with there are caricatures of animals like but and snakes following in the footsteps of a scientist. You may not realize that this cute Doogle is there to celebrate Dr. Lim Boo Liat who pioneered the field of zoology in Malaysia.

He helped start the National Zoo and has written more than 300 scientific publications on mammals and parasitology. On this day in 2003, Dr. Lim was awarded an Honorary Membership to the American Society of Mammalogists (known as the American Society of Mammalogists, or ASM) for his outstanding contributions to mammalian science. He was the first Southeast Asian (and fourth Asian) to become an Honorary Member of ASM, an award founded in 1919.
